The National Training sessions are an intensive 5-day program for people committed to understanding the craft, theory and practices of community organizing; power, leadership, interest, relationships and organization.
Leadership: Not only will attendees learn about community organising, but engage in self-reflection on their own leadership, tendencies in public life and role in their organisations.
Rebuilding and strengthening organisations: The training provides tools for organisational leaders and members to address the challenges and decline of civil society and the impact that has on modern organisations.
Community of leaders: This training will be particularly important as it builds a new cohort of leaders across Alberta and British Columbia in a time when civic engagement is challenged on many fronts.
It is for those who want to play a key role in leading the activities of the Alliance inside their organisation and acting as a bridge between civil society organisations.
The training draws on 80 years of experience in delivering training in Canada, US, UK, NZ-Aotearoa, and Australia. The training team brings together over 60 years of experience in community organising from Canada, the US and Australia-Aotearoa New Zealand.
Please RSVP through this Google Form.
Note: Sunday the 24th is a travel day, the sessions begin on the 25th.
